Background and summary
Our client operates a mine site reliant on a private LTE network for critical operations. Shortly after the network rollout, a Priority 1 (P1) incident occurred when server infrastructure overheated during air-conditioning testing. OTSC leveraged its expertise in mining OT environments and the LTE stack to collaborate with the equipment vendor and identify the overheating as the immediate cause, confirmed by the site team through physical inspection.
To address the lack of environmental monitoring, OTSC used the site’s existing infrastructure to configure IMS switch monitoring capabilities. Automated triggers were implemented to monitor server room temperatures, closing the monitoring gap without additional investment.
Within months, the system detected a cooling failure, allowing OTSC to alert the site team and prevent a site-wide outage. This showcased OTSC’s ability to rapidly deliver effective solutions to complex challenges.
